Kaboom

For those that are interested, I've updated my WILT over in the sidebar. And my Upcoming page is overflowing with shows.

I LOVE the new album from The Diggs ctrl-alt-del. Another NYC band kickin' ass on their sophomore album.

Also worth checking out - Morning Theft's Between Walls which is available as a free download. You can also enter to win a wii.

And here's another free download - Appomattox AO. Your face will be rocked. And another reason why you should go to Union Hall on Fri March 7.

How 'bout some flyers???

The First Blast

Say Hi's new album found it's way to me yesterday. I dig it. They are doing a WOXY lounge act soon, as are MUSSELS and FINEST DEAREST. Here's the full schedule:

2/15Soft

2/27Say Hi4:00pm
2/29Hotpipes3:00pm
3/4Headlights4:30pm
3/20Mussels4:00pm
4/28Finest Dearest1:00pm

And if you haven't listened to The Mugs, Jukebox, and/or Muggabears lounge acts yet, you really should. Here are the mp3s:

The Mugs WOXY lounge act
The Muggabears WOXY lounge act
Jukebox the Ghost lounge act

Also - Finest Dearest are FINALLY coming to NYC in April, after a swing through SXSW. They are doing a show on Wed 4/23 w/Kinetic at a Venue TBA. Coincidently, just the other day Subinev Bryan wisely recommended Kinetic to me and I'm glad he did. They are real good. Check em out. They'll also be at The Delancey next Fri 2/22 w/ former KOers Cinema, Cinema. CC at 11, Kinetic at 11:45. $8

And here's something fun to do the night before:

BTW - Subinev Bryan is getting older. And a celebration in his honor is happening next Friday. Let them eat cupcakes.

RE: SX -> SEE THE SHACKELTONS.
SX and NYC dates:

March 13 – Austin, TX @ SXSW - Planetary Skewer BBQ
March 13 – Austin, TX @ SXSW - Above the Radar - Trophys Bar and Grill - 5:00 pm
March 15 – Austin, TX @ SXSW - SxSeattle Party - Palm Door 3:45 pm
March 21 - New York City @ Canal Room

And keep an eye open for HOSPITAL BOMBERS & ALAMO RACE TRACK. Showcases and venues TBA.

Sidenote - Anyone else enjoying Breaking Bad as much as I am??? And after last weeks Lost, which was probably the best episode of the series so far, last night's episode was a huge letdown and was probably one of the worst.

edit - Ok, so after rewatching last week's Lost, I take back my comments. The episode was good, but I am still not sold on the flash forwards.

This should be a good time:

I was listening to WNYU the other day. The '(Make The) Product' show was on. Good stuff. Really need to tune in to NYU more often.

I'm sure you've heard by now that KEXP is coming to our NYC airwaves. NICE. Maybe there is hope for us afterall.

Is it weird that I bought a V-day gift for my iTouch? I dream of a day where our love will be socially acceptable.

That's all for now.

A Post

Can't believe people are still stopping by, after how much I have been neglecting you. Therefore, I feel compelled to continue on some way some how. What I think I am going to do is just start compiling thing that I think may be falling through the cracks. And even if they have been well documented, maybe I can add to the exposure.

For instance:

The Mugs are doing a residency at Rockwood in March! Shhhhhaaaaweeet.

BTW - that Cake Shop show that I mentioned in my last post was exactly like the name of one of the band that played there that night. EXCELLENT. The Mugs, The Diggs, and Mussels were amazing as always and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Excellent. Look em up.

So that's what I'm going to do. Jot down stuff and then blast out some big posts occasionally. And then maybe/hopefully this place will eventually go old school.

In the meantime. Keep your eyes peeled to the After The Jump site for info on our SXSW shows. Megabadassness is about to drop.
