Impeach Beach Coney Island

Jules and I went to Coney Island this past Saturday for the A28 Coney Island Impeach Beach event. I was hoping that this would happen and was psyched that it actually did. Here are some pics from A28:

Jules wrote up a guest post:

So while the match continued at K4 into the wee hours of Friday night, there was another fight on the horizon that allowed us close to zero sleep time.

But who needs sleep to impeach the president?

After some much needed coffee and french toast we were on our way. Saturday morning brought us to the shores of Coney Island for the (drum roll please) Great Beach Impeach! I had heard about an event like this taking place in San Francisco and how plans were under way for a massive widespread effort on April 28th to well....impeach Bush & Cheney. As soon as I heard NY was on the list and having an event, I knew how I was spending that Saturday.

We checked in at the sign up booth on the boardwalk where we received our destiny to be part of the letter H. Just to give a little background to what we were doing, the plan was for everyone to form the word IMPEACH lying in formation on the beach while a plane and chopper flew overhead to take some pic's. This was happening simultaneously in a bunch of other cities, all with the same message that it's time (well ok it's been time for quite awhile now) for someone and their entourage to pack their bags, uh hum...Georgie, that's you.

As you can see by the pic's, great success at Coney Island and all the other cities. Everyone was super friendly and excited to be there, it was truly an incredible experience and I feel proud to have been a part of it.

And what better way to top off the day then with some hot dogs and cheese fries? Yummmm.

H people reprazant!

Quick sidenote:

To everyone that has been hearing all the horror stories about how Coney Island has been demolished - these rumors are only 1/2 true. Yes, some parts of the amusement park have been ripped out (specifically, the areas on both side of Stillwell, which were kinda crap anyway, really), but a lot is still untouched. For now.

And!!! Shoot the Freak has been rebuilt and is better than ever!
