They played a set of all new songs. At times they sounded a little bit like The Shins, but they still definitely have their Southern swagger. The last two songs were very organ heavy. I gotta get my hands on this new album. Via WOXY:

On their way down to play at Bonnaroo, the guys swung by for their third Lounge Act session. With recording of their second album ("Heavenly Bender") completed, Sam Champion are looking for the right label to release it.

This session features five brand new tracks, all of which will be featured on the new album. At least one of the songs here ("Lorraine") was performed live for the very first time during this set.

This just in: Just found out about two upcoming Sam Champion NYC shows. One of the shows will be at the Seaport with Ra Ra Riot (I hope they are still playing) on Fri June 29 (FREE!!). The other show is at Pianos on Wed July 11. Tix are onsale for the Pianos show. $10.
