De Novo Dahl are all about playing at Pianos on a Tuesday. In addition to the show tomorrow, they will also be at Pianos in three weeks for a show on Tues Aug 22nd. Here is the full lineup:
This post is just an obsene list of all the great bands that are playing at Bowery Ballroom in the upcoming months for which tix are still on sale. All links are for tix:
Islands are responsible for one of my favorite albums of 2006 and one of my favorite performances of 2006. SO EXCITED for their return to NYC in October:
The Long Winters aren't the only Barsuk band coming to NYC in Sept:
The Long Winters are coming! In support of their excellent new album, Putting The Days To Bed. Here are the dates:
In addition to a show at Mercury Lounge on Thurs Sept 7 (via BV), Birdmonster will also be at Maxwell's on Wed Sept 6 and Union Hall on Fri Sept 8. The lineup at Union Hall is the same as the Merc show, Catfish Haven, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, except no The Sammies. Been hearing a lot of good things about SSLYBY recently, who were part of the "official siren afterparty" at Mercury Lounge with Aeroplane Pageant.
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's have one NYC date coming up and apparently it's part of a party that Time Out New York is throwing in Union Square Park. Here's all the info I could find:
Looks familiar. But in a good way, because it involves Femme Generation coming back to NYC. Here's the one date posted on their website:
Cancelled.
Rumor had it that Silversun Pickups were going to be playing at this weekend's pool party at McCarren Park Pool. Unfortunately, that rumor ended up being false. Now a new Brooklyn date is listed for the band at OMR. They claim that the band will be at Union Hall, not to be confused with Union Pool, on Mon Aug 7th at 8:00PM with Daylight's for Birds (ex-On!Air!Library!). They are usually right, so I'll take their word for it, even though the date is not listed on Silversun Pickup's website or Myspace. There is a gap between their DC show on Aug 6th and their WOXY lounge act on Aug 9th, so...
De Novo Dahl aren't the only superb Theory 8 band that are coming to NYC for a show at Pianos. Forget Cassettes (Myspace) are coming too. But they are also going to stop by Brooklyn as well for a show at Union Pool with a bunch of other fun bands. The info via their website:
Here's the info:
Have begun. There are two so far. I can't wait until Season 3 begins.
De Novo Dahl are coming back to NYC. Another great band on one of my favorite labels, Theory 8 Records. I don't think that they have been here since last fall for CMJ. They will be at Pianos on Tues Aug 1 at 7:30PM, where I assume they will be playing lots of songs from their new album which should be out soon. Here's the full lineup:

Download a few De Novo Dahl mp3s at their website, listen to a few songs at their Myspace, or stream their classic WOXY lounge act.
Looks like they finally got the lineup figured out for this weekend's pool party.
Some info about the next CitySol event:
I thought it was great. Very Neutral Milk Hotelesque. Via WOXY:
Check out the new website/blog @ http://ermp.org/eastriver. They are having a fundraiser show at The Woodser this Friday. Here's the info:
If this weekend doesn't wipe you out, go see morning theft (Myspace) at Mercury Lounge on Mon July 17. Here's the full lineup:
Crackers United's pics from this show are damn good. Pretty sure he was standing right in front of me when he took most of these.
The virtual tour of the new Mets stadium is dope. You can watch it here. Does anyone know if there is something like this for the new Yankee stadium? I can't find one.
Wed August 23rd.
At Pianos on Sat July 29th at 7:30PM. Here's the lineup so far:
Another Drink at Work Presents show!
BBQ #1 - Modular Monthly NYC - July 16th
Some info regarding the Pool Parties:
Not only are Oh No! Oh My! playing at the Insound Pre-Siren Fest Party on Thurs July 13, you can listen to them live in the WOXY lounge the day before, Wed July 12, at 2:00pm.
Well...it's official as far as I'm concerned. Mercury Lounge:
