Pinback - New Video - From Nothing To Nowhere
I am sure that you are well aware of the two NYC CYHSY shows in September, both of which are sold out. One on Tues Sept 11 @ Blender/Gramercy and the other on Mon Sept 10 at Northsix/Music Hall (is it ok if I just keep calling this place Northsix? I think you'll know what I'm referring to).
FG checking in:
In celebration of Friction's two year anniversary, the CU fellas are throwing two parties. One at their new home, Mercury Lounge, and one at newish venue, the Music Hall of Northsix, I mean, Williamsburg. Details:

Fire up the War Machine!
Just found out about this festival that is taking place in Atlanta in October. The lineup is interesting, but definitely no where near as travel worthy as Vegoose. The reason I am mentioning this fest though, is that I just read a rumor that The White Stripes, Bob Dylan, and .... Radiohead will soon be added to the lineup. The rumor pointed out how this is festival is very eco friendly as a way of rationalizing Radiohead's addition. It seems like Radiohead and Bob Dylan are supposed to play all over the world at every festival every summer. File the Radiohead part of this rumor under doubtful. Here is the lineup so far:
The final ERMP of the year at the East River Amphitheater will be taking place on Sat Sept 8, but it will not be the last ERMP event of the year. They are also having a benefit show at Sound Fix on Fri Sept 14. Here's everything you need to know:
Here's the latest on ATJF. Just want to mention that I am SUPERPUMPED about the addition of Free Blood!!!!!
So that show I posted about the other day is just one of three upcoming NYC dates for The Most Serene Republic. In addition to the show on Thurs Sept 20, which is a Friction show, they will also be at Union Hall on Fri Sept 21 and Maxwell's on Sat Sept 22. The Union Hall show is presented by Neon Lights and Prefix Mag. Tix for the Maxwell's show are $10 and are ON SALE. Tix for the Union Hall show will also be $10, but are not on sale yet.
As you probably have noticed, I've been a little busy recently. Haven't had much time for blogging. One thing in particular that I wanted to post about was the passing of Phil Rizzuto, who I grew up with while watching Yankee games. I liked the Steinbrenner quote that "Heaven must have needed a shortstop."
I literally just pumped my fist and yelled "YES". While looking to see who was playing around town tonight, I stumbled upon something AWESOME. Thurs Sept 20. Mercury Lounge. The Most Serene Republic.
Here are two videos I took at the pool yesterday. Both videos get better about a 1/4 of the way in. I was crashed into a few times while shooting them, so they are a little shaky. If they are too small for you, try watching them in full screen. I think they look much better that way. Enjoy.
More places for you to buy Mussels' Little Voices! The album is now available on iTunes and eMusic.
Stole these from Steve. I'm not sure if it's THEE funniest, but it is definitely up there. Sept 13 can't come soon enough.
Joba Chamberlain brought up to the majors and Mike Myers designated for assignment = FINALLY!!!! Farnsworth, you are on notice.
Want to do a little pre-partying tomorrow before the Benzos RRparty? Go to Pianos and check out one of my favorite new bands, Taxi Taxi, cross pollinate with The Monas. Wes has the details.

I didn't make it out to the show last night, but my friend Anne did and she's going to send me a review soon. Until then, here are some pics she took:
Remember how I told you that Permanent Records would eventually start hosting some in-store performances? Well here you go:
You may have noticed that I have been tinkering with the sidebar. Seemed like the recent posts and Upcoming sections would be more useful at the top. Also, I've added a link to my email (I stole Sean's secret code). There are some other changes I want to make too, which may result in an all out redesign. Is there anything that you would like to see changed? I'm open for suggestions.
